Dedicated Server for EPIC users?
I've heard that Coffee Stain is working with Steam for dedicated servers, and that according to the wiki page ( https://satisfactory.fandom.com/wiki/Dedicated_servers ) there are some issues with viewing the Dedicated Server in your tools section if you're a long-time game owner from EPIC and do not own the game on Steam. Is there any update or somewhere that I can follow for when this bug is fixed, or possibly a known work around? Update 5 is out and my friends and I would like to build our own dedicated server, but we all have it for EPIC, and have had it since like update 2. I'd rather not buy the game again if I don't have to.

If you have a steam account, you just need to enable Tools (or Games and Tools) in the Steam Client .. then Satisfactory Dedicated Server can be downloaded.

This also tells you haw to get it with steamCMD:

You don't even need a Steam account. You can install it with SteamCMD and run it apart from Steam and then connect to it from any version, afaik.

Problem is the epic client version is behind the steam dedicated server so there's a version mismatch as of a few minutes ago.

The goal is to update both the Steam and EGS version at approx. the same time. However, that is not always working as intented. Just give it a few hours.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. Will just wait for Epic to push a new update then and try again tomorrow. :) Thanks!

I'm having an opposite issue. Epic is updated (174005) but the Steam server isn't (173879).

Seeing the same.

@Hell Toupee @Corn Pop Use the "-beta experimental" parameter. Your games have the newest experimental version, but your servers are on normal EA branch.

Edit: In case you don't know how to do it: https://satisfactory.fandom.com/wiki/Dedicated_servers#SteamCMD (just above "Starting the server")

@Munin Thank you so much that worked!

Just in case anyone else needs it, this is the command line:
C:\Servers\SteamCMD\steamcmd +force_install_dir C:\Servers\Satisfactory +login anonymous +app_update 1690800 -beta experimental validate +quit

or

steamcmd +force_install_dir <install path> +login anonymous +app_update 1690800 -beta experimental validate +quit

I'm using this and setting STEAMBETA to true, which adds that to steamcmd in run.sh: https://github.com/wolveix/satisfactory-server

You have a working experimental server running 174005?

@Corn Pop If it doesn't work the Docker version is broken. And no, I personally don't have a server running.

thanks guys, seems to work by adding the -beta experimental option after the ID

That's exactly what it was, just needed to remove my container and start a new one, rather than just restarting which I was doing in the past to update.

So everything's working now? Great!

What about those of us that use Nitrado for our server needs or any other third party host, not everyone has an extra tower in their house to use as a dedicated server.
