Yeah, it looks like it's just icons, if you want different colors that's not going to happen.

glad i found this thread cos even though i watched a video of a guys mixing unusual colours i did not know the gun was no longer around , only choice now is a few basic colour changes with a brush

That's not correct.
The customiser does:
Colours for walls, foundations, buildings, and vehicles, which are free
Materials for walls and foundations, which are free
Decals for foundation surfaces, which cost colour cartridges

You have a fixed number of colour swatches, but you can customise the colour of each swatch. Edit a swatch and everything using that swatch updates automatically. There is also one custom swatch where that doesn't apply, which you can use to paint any thing any colour

Is it possible to immediately build a wall with a custom swatch (e.g. middle-mousing on an already customised wall) or do I need to always place the standard wall first and then painstakingly customise each single wall segment?
