Can't rotate buildings
So I'm currently rebuilding my factory from the foundation and decided to build a road from an nearby waterfall. The road is having a 45 degree angle at one point and this angle seems to forbid me to rotate buildings in one direction (SW), the other 3 directions are completely fine. Does anyone know why building outputs facing SW is forbidden? Inputs from SW is accepted though. And at this 45 degree curve, I can build in all directions (N, W, S, E)

What? Just rotate the building until it points to where you want it. They rotate in like 15 degree steps or something so you're not limited to the 4 (cardinal I think they're called?) directions

There is a rare bug when placing buildings on foundations, where when rotating the building it will skip one of the directions.

I have only seen it on foundations not rotated to one of the standard angle increments the game normally allows (I used a mod to get the rotation I wanted).

Dismantling the foundations and rebuilding them rotated by 90 degrees usually fixed it for me

I had the same bug while painting arrows on my road, one of the 4 directions wasn't available, there was a kind of big cross instead...

Update: It seems to occur in random locations. If I move away in one direction or if I place a 1m foundation on the z axis, I can place it in all direction. So its sounds like a bug to me. And it only rotates in 90 degree but skipping one turn or having two "rotations" in the same direction. It do also seem to be random depending on building where the flow will go. You could trick sorters/splitters by placing down belts before placing a sorter/splitter, but assemblers are a little harder to do this with afaik

Not rare, been a thing for months. When facing East, I can place machines Right->Left, Front->Back and Back->Front, but no matter what I do, I can not place Left->Right. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!

Devs must know about it, they just can't be bothered to fix it.

I've run into this as well since update 5, when they added the global grid feature. The only solution I've found is to keep rebuilding foundation blocks until the problem goes away. Upvote for fixing it on the QA site: https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/post/618c77f5831c85205235cbe7

You can test the foundations by trying to apply a graphic/pattern to the block. As you rotate through the directions on the one of the alignments, the pattern changes to a completely different pattern, that foundation piece will likely cause you trouble.

What's weird is the different pattern you get will always be the same for the pattern you chose but will be different for different patterns chosen.
Eg. I picked the Zoned Out (diagonal lines) pattern and when I rotate, one of the alignments changed it to a number (1 I think), this happened on several foundations, all changing the Zoned Out to a 1. Then I tried a different pattern (I believe it was a number) and this would always end up being a different pattern on rotation, I believe it was changing to the pattern of the Factory Car. Weird.
