Also I believe that solid biofuel will work too.
all work.
Truck stops seem to be a little picky about what they think is fuel however, and tend to only accept ,coal, fuel, turbofuel
i have not tried the color canisters in a truck stop but they work great as an early fuel infact they are better than regular fuel in terms of burn length.

This page has a table with all fuels and what buildings/vehicles can make use of them.
Yes. Before drones, batteries were only a thing for trucks/tractors.
Leaves, wood, mycelia, alien carapace, alien organs, flower petals, colour cartridge, fabric, biomass, solid biofuel, packaged liquid biofuel, coal, compacted coal, petroleum coke, packaged fuel, packaged turbofuel, packaged heavy oil residue, packaged oil, battery, nuclear fuel rod, plutonium fuel rod.
Note with nuclear fuel rods, they'll last 2 hours & 46 minutes in a truck, but you won't be able to really use the truck yourself because of the radioactivity. Fantastic for automation, though, since the trucks will never have the issue of running out of fuel mid-trip.
Also of note is that batteries are phenomenal "fuel" for vehicles because they last an extremely long time.
