i cant do basic maths? steel issue
I have 4 foundry's not overclocked , putting out 45 steel ingots

i want to turn these into bars so i check the recipe a constructor will turn 60 ingots into 15 /min

im making 4X45 =180 , 180 /60 = 3 so i need to feed my 4 foundries down into 3 constructors right?

so i just split one of the foundries into 3 and merge those one each onto the other 3 , giving each of the 3 foundries connected to a constructor its own 45 + 1/3 of 45 = 60 which is a match.

but i notice the constructors are backing up and not keeping up with the foundries, playing around with overclocking i get the foundries to balance with the constructors by overclocking the constructors to 50%

so foundries output 45 ingots /min and i have 4 = 180
My constructors are using 90 ingots /min and i have 3 of them =270
and this system is balanced the constructors are not going idle at all.

what am i missing?

If you watch the input buffer of one of these Constructors, does the number of Steel Ingots in the input buffer remain roughly the same, or does it slowly tick down? What happens if you remove all the items from the i/o buffers?

How there can be a problem?

Google helps with Math :)

hi thanks , yes steel beams

my foundries are making 180 steel ingots. (4x45)
my constructors are using 270 steel ingots ((3X90) 50% overclock)

but somehow my constructors are not running out of ingots

edit used that website put in 67.5 steel beams which is what i am making

my prod line differs in that i am using 3 oc'd constructors instead of the 4.5 it lists

and i am only feeding the line with 4 foundries not the 6 it claims i need, i have 2 instead going into a steel pipe line but im still outputting 67.5 beams which shouldnt be possible

><i am on the experimental build><>

this seems to be it , i did run the buffers down by oc'ing all the way up to 250 and it looked like after that it balanced out at 50% Oc but going back to check there is now definitely an idle moment i must not of given it enough time to work through the line properly

good job! ;)

The simplest way to do this is the manifold method.

Instead of balancing, have a single belt with mergers/splitters on one input/output belt.

As long as your belt tech matches your needed input or output, than it works that way
