Chainsaw does't work as it should

I have heard that people were having trouble cutting down bushes in the northern forest area in the experimental version. I can tell you that cutting down bushes still works fine in the green fields area in the experimental version. The chainsaw needs solid biofuel as ammo to operate, so make sure you have some.

If you chainsaw and things don't get removed make sure your inventory is not full. Chainsaw will skip some items in its area of effect if you don't have the inventory space to hold them, but it should always chop down the particular bush, grass, or tree that you targeted.

The chainsaw doesn't target the new bushes in the northern forest, if it can't target them, it can't cut them directly, you have to target something else and hope the AOE works on them, or break your keyboard picking up 100,000 new bushes spamming the E key.
