If you go this route. I advise you to start your own game then copy your game to the game server. Learning this service was frustrating to me but once i got the hang of it we had fun. However, depending on internet connections, experience may vary.
they should be using the new dedicated server software, so zap-hosting is out of consideration

AMP manages the sever side of things all you would need to do after setting up AMP is forward the ports through your router and bam its good to go.
Have 48 Ingame Hours and no crashes yet, also no laggs and the only problems i noticed were probably caused by the game itself like items not being visible on the conveyors or Objects which are gone but visible from afar (like snails, if you go close they vanish)
They use the official serversoftware which can be used with the experimental version 5
I recommend creating a cloud compute instance at https://www.vultr.com/ and installing the Satisfactory dedicated server software yourself.
Nobody could connect to my server, and the session constantly reverted back to, "Private", any time I tried to set it to, "Friends Only".
After the latest patch, suddenly I now have to, "Authenticate", and enter a password that I never created or have a clue what could be.
So, I am having a different experience with gportal.
gave my friend the IP and he could add it and join then
I bought a new server from gportal, removed the old one, then added the newest one and was able to create the password and authenticate.
Sadly, the session continues to always revert back to, "Private", no matter what I do, blocking anyone else from connecting or being invited to join.
Is there some other means of connecting to these servers that we're unaware of?
