In-game production planner
This game really needs a production planner in-game. I know there are third party tools online, but these often miss useful functions. It could even be it's own separate building, like a blueprint table. I'm talking about a planner where you can set what your input is, what items you want as output. The game then calculates automatically how much you can produce of every item to reach peak efficiency. Perhaps you could even drag around buildings on the blueprint on a nice grid and create a neat building plan that way. When you're done, you can save the blueprint and use it while building production lines. I'm not talking about plopping down massive factories in an instant, but just a guide to help you while building. Maybe you could have multiple blueprints for multiple floors, something like that. Right now, my head hurts trying to optimize it myself. If the game is about automation and not about math, then this is without a doubt something that needs to be a thing before the game goes out of early access.

That would be infinitely better than what it currently is like. I especially like the idea of having some kind of table you can use to plot out a factory layout on a grid.
I don't find the math part too troubling but find it difficult to visualise a concept for a factory without something on paper and paint can only do so much.

While I can see something like this within the realm of possibility for the devs, I will likely remain partial to Excel. It is the tool I turn to for planning productions in Satisfactory and DSP, building characters in Bannerlord, charting engine data in Stormworks, laying out frameworks for construction in Space Engineers and Empyrion, and optimizing my farm in Stardew Valley. Building the tools I need becomes part of playing the game for me.

I don't mind the devs implementing a simple production planner into the game, but playing with the math is as critical part of the game to me as is actually building things. The planner should be a tool allowing the player to find the answer themselves.
