does anyone having trouble to start SMM (update 5)

when i launch the game using SMM. it keep telling me plug in SML fail to load. Does that mean i have to wait until SMM new update for the update 5 version experimental?
P.S i only use 1 mod - Pak Utility Mod

I had to turn the Mods on and off switch to off in the SMM for the game to start. I disabled all mods and I still had the SML fail until I turned that switch off. I'm about to uninstall all but a seemingly noninvasive mod. Ill be trying the mod that speeds up handcrafting and a few others to see if it's manager related or mod related.

Modding is broken. I tried 5 mods and all resulted in similar or the same result as you. We are going to have to like with the vanilla game for now.

mods are likely to remain broken for a few weeks until the modders can update then sufficiently. even the interactive map won't support Exp saves for a few days as far as i know.

Until Update 5 gets out of experimental SMM will not work. This give modders time to make changes so when fully released it will all work again.

the purpose of an experimental version is to find bugs in the core game and mods do not help at all

i use Win 11 with the same Prob.
I change the Settings to start SMM to use Win 8 Mode then it work without Error

Many Mods are updatet to work with Update 5

Many mods are not updated yet. SML 3.2.0 runs on update 5. Some older mods (like 'Just Fly') work fine in update 5 .. others need to be rebuilt .. others need to be modified and rebuilt as some function names have changed, etc.

There is a Satisfactory Modding discord channel .. other bigger modders have their own channels.

Refined Power should be out today. Smart should be out in 2-3 days. Many have already been updated.

I deleted the whole Mod Manager just to be safe, and I still get the error. Im losing my patience here.

Install the mod manager again...
Open it.
Click the slider button near the top that says "MODS on off", make sure it says OFF.
Now you can uninstall it again if you like.


Every single time there's an update you have to update the SML with the Mod Manager, if there's no update yet, wait a couple hours for the modders to update it.
This is true for almost EVERY game. If you choose to do modding you choose to wait for modders to fix their mods every time there's an update to the game.
