Let's say you're expanding an existing foundation and run into an obstacle, like this hillside.

You can build foundations on top of existing ones to raise their level by however much you want.

Once you reach a desirable level, you can remove adjacent foundations and rebuild off the new highest level you've created, then continue building off that, with more foundation, ramps or whatever you like.

Building a base like this has been something I've been dreading some, just getting in there and slapping stuff around, its not that big of a deal after all =P I'm still sucking...oh my God my base looks like hell, but I haven't unlocked everything either, so hopefully there'll be stuff soon to help with the mess I've made.
