If you are using windows that´s because you need to add SteamCmd to your Environment Variables, but if you dont know how, its probably easier to use the SteamCMD GUI tool https://github.com/DioJoestar/SteamCMD-GUI
They truly false advertised this. What's the point of wanting a dedicated server if we need to set it up and run it ourselves or pay a rent for a server.... We were already able to keep the game running on our pc and achieve the same thing!
This whole thing is such a disappointment for me and my friends.
I don't see the mis-advertisement for Dedicated Servers. The instructions to install & configure dedicated servers was clear as it will be to anyone who has done this type of thing before. I believe it's been done this way to eventually allow further customisation and modding abilities.
Setup went fine on my Dedicated Server.
When I get mine launched, I get the Error: SetEnvironmentVar not implemented for this platform: SteamAppId = 526870
I looked it up, 526870 is the id for Satisfactory, which isn't on this computer because this only has the Dedicated Server pulled down through SteamCMD. Has anyone figured out how to get this to work?
I believe to get the log to appear you'll want to make a start.bat with:
FactoryServer.exe -log -unattended
It's written on the Satisfactory store page in large friendliy white on blue-ish letters:
