Dedicated Servers
Anyone found them yet? Can't see even with Tool filter and restarting the steam client.

we've reached out to valve about this issue and we'll try and sort this out as soon as we can. Until then people have had success using steamcmd.

As some people have pointed out check the wiki for more info https://satisfactory.fandom.com/wiki/Dedicated_servers

The SteamCMD line isnt working for me, it keeps stating that "command not found: steamcmd"

If you are using windows that´s because you need to add SteamCmd to your Environment Variables, but if you dont know how, its probably easier to use the SteamCMD GUI tool https://github.com/DioJoestar/SteamCMD-GUI

For what it's worth - I used steamcmd to download, then backup the dedicated server, and tried to import to regular Steam. It asks for a steam activation code, and while steamcmd grabbed it OK, steam client won't add without an activation code. I think CSS will need to sort this out a slightly different way.

The whole dedicated server wishing from me and my friends were so that the Coffeestain would host their own dedicated server, which users could create an account and a world that we would be able to connect whenever we want.

They truly false advertised this. What's the point of wanting a dedicated server if we need to set it up and run it ourselves or pay a rent for a server.... We were already able to keep the game running on our pc and achieve the same thing!

This whole thing is such a disappointment for me and my friends.

Have you configured the server via your client?

It doesn't show up in my SteamLibrary, so I can't start it

It wont as I do not think they have the tool deployed yet via steam..check the wiki for details how to run it. You manually run the server file outside of steam and configure the server ingame

I don't see the mis-advertisement for Dedicated Servers. The instructions to install & configure dedicated servers was clear as it will be to anyone who has done this type of thing before. I believe it's been done this way to eventually allow further customisation and modding abilities.

Setup went fine on my Dedicated Server.

Ahhh, found it, seems to work, thx. Do you know if the possible commands are already documented?

I haven't found a lot of info...scratch around in the ini config files to see what is possible to configure at least. Good luck

I download server through SteamCMD, launch FactoryServer.exe and so what? It just runs in Task Manager. I can't connect to it through ip:port or localhost:port. I think it's better to wait whtn devs add it to Library (if they do it at all :-\\ )

My Steam API fails to initialize.

When I get mine launched, I get the Error: SetEnvironmentVar not implemented for this platform: SteamAppId = 526870

I looked it up, 526870 is the id for Satisfactory, which isn't on this computer because this only has the Dedicated Server pulled down through SteamCMD. Has anyone figured out how to get this to work?

so many game servers don't run from within steam and is just command line. bunch of whiners want dedicated servers and don't even know how they work.

I believe to get the log to appear you'll want to make a start.bat with:
FactoryServer.exe -log -unattended
