much much worse, can't stress it enough
you can try to look for some mods and stuff, I'm not aware of those, but I'd advise to stick to factorio which has the same idea but is one of the most well-optimized games in existence, or maybe try dyson sphere program which is in 3d but is much easier on the pc still
What spec did you run? The same ran playably well for me on a GTX 1070 and Intel i5 7600k right up to late game (though a bit choppy at times)
If you're in a spaghetti factory, your GPU might choke. But, the CPU is generally what bottlenecks the game.
Also try borderless windowed and fullscreen modes, those frequently have dramatic effects, especially before release.
less voltage -> less heat -> higher possible clock speed before heat-trottle
might not help much but it coud make a difference.
also it takes some time to tune your sistem right so that it still works stable
and not all cpus and gpus can be undervoltet
In this file are your resolution settings, change them to a lower value or leave them alone and change the sg.ResolutionQuality to a smaller value (this will change the internal render resolution to a smaller size and leave your output resolution as whatever your monitor is natively thus increasing FPS)
If your monitor is 1920x1080, a value of 75 will make the game internally render at 1440x810 and scale it up to 1080p for your monitor. Less pixels to render = +fps.
You can also adjust the FrameRateLimit to a lower value(30) so the GPU doesn't have to work so hard.
You can also use the UseDynamicResolution = true and set the FrameRateLimit = 30 and the internal renderer should use a dynamic version of sg.ResolutionQuality to keep your FPS at 30 and potato your graphics however it needs to at the moment.
Additionally, all the numbers under the [ScalabilityGroups] heading can be set to 1 (these are available in the graphics options so you can just set those to the lowest setting there).
