Cant build the HUB on any Session
I managed to die pretty immediately on first try. Since then I don't have anymore the option to build the HUB no matter what I try: Respawning, reloading, starting a new game session, even deleting all existing sessions... nothing helps, I am always spawning at a state with no ability to build the HUB.
I am really keen on this game, but with this bug there is no point in it. So I refunded it with Steam within the 2h cool off period. Would like to re-buy it, if someone could tell me whats going on and how to fix it

but you do have the hub parts in your inventory correct?

Well well well....
Are you sure you deconstructed this landing pod? You need the parts of it to build the hub. If you died than you just need to go to your last position (before you died) and these parts should be in the "dead body box". This is also like the first thing that gets explained in the tutorial.
If thats not the problem and you encountered an actual bug maybe others here can help you.
Maybe a tip for the future. Why not first ask in the forum before deleting, refunding and than re-buying and re-downloading?

have a good day :tabbycat:

To build the HUB after starting a new session, the game will require you to:
Exit your drop pod.
Dismantle the drop pod to acquire the HUB parts.
Open the Codex
Open your inventory and equip the Xeno-Zapper.
Find and gather iron.

Gathering iron will then unlock the ability to build things, first of which is the HUB. Dying has no negative effects as HUB parts are the one item you can't lose. They are not dropped upon death, whether that be from monsters, poison, falling a far distance, or even falling into the void (all personally tested mere minutes ago).

Assuming you did all these things, then you experienced a bug so rare that I've never heard of its likeness in the 2.5 years I've been playing when it released on EGS.

I don't remember which patch it was that made them unable to be lost, but I'm pretty sure they could be lost at some point.

Is there still the bug where you get two HUB parts if you die before building it?

Nope. At least that didn't happen when I tested it earlier this morning.

Would be nice to build multiple HUBs. You can drop Awesome Sinks anywhere and they're all linked over a network, why not HUBs? Are MAMs a one-shot as well? I forget.

MAM used to be stuck inside the HUB long time ago, but now that it's separated, you can plop them down anywhere as many as you want. They even continue to research things and scan hard drives if they've all been dismantled.

I have ended up with two HUB parts recently. I'm not sure how but in two separate games I ended up with an extra HUB part but the game will only let you build one hub and you can't just drag the extra HUB part into the trash can so I just threw it on the ground somewhere in the world. Its possible that I may have died before placing the HUB the first time.

I deconstructed the pod and had the HUB parts. Then I died... then I died a couple of times again until I figured out how to find my kit. After picking it up I had the HUB parts(!) but could not build the HUB. It was not in the build menu. There were only a few items that looked rather advanced to me like some kind of conveyor junctions (but could not build those neither). The annoying part is that even after resetting everything, deleting the session (supposedly) and restart it I woke up in the same dire condition.
