console version maybe?
Hey guys. Loving the game as a whole. been playing since early access began thru epic launcher. Is there a possibility of a console launch for the game? Many of my friends and myself would be thrilled to play this together. im the only PC guy among them.

There are currently no plans for any release on console or Linux/Mac. We might do it in the future but for now we're focusing on the pc version.

I believe they have said no to consoles for now while in early access. They may work on bringing it to the newest gen consoles after the game is finished though. Probably going to be at least a year before that happens though.

... and they specifically laughed off the idea of the Switch.

fair points. and that's funny about switch. given the resolution of the game the switch would melt.

Ok good to know. Fingers crossed but love the game thus far either way.
At least new consoles have the CPU to run the games feasible, man the old PS4/Xbox One would have be melted under load.

well too bad for your but if you want decent perf , you need great CPU & SSD for that game, which XO & ps4 doesn't have same for the pro & the X
I'm sure the graphics would be dumbed down for consoles, so the "melting" nonsense can stop.

As well, many of the advanced features would just not work on a console, unless one of them finally allowed a proper keyboard connection. I'm sure the MS chatpad could be implemented, but, at least as far as the 360 was concerned, MS wasn't all that excited about letting devs use it for that. They wanted their "internet appliance" to do everything a computer could do (messaging, web browser, download games and apps) except without the functionality of a computer. Because MS are stupid.

However, you're going to get a lot more requests for PvP and PvE and base defense and less simulation and less reliance on brainpower when it comes to figuring out clock speeds, because the vast majority of the console crowd wants non-stop action and multiplayer frag-fests, not brain games.

Sadly you are not wrong. Most people prefer shooters and platformers. Personally, i enjoy games that make me think and plan ahead or even redo previous setups to implement additional steps. honestly why i love this game. only had it through steam a few weeks but ive been playing on epic since release with nearly 9 days total play time.

Yeah you clearly have no clue, look at their CPU. Now come back and explain me how „dumbed down graphics“ can help to reduce CPU load.

Just to make you guys something clear look at the PS4 CPU:

AMD Jaguar x86 (AMD64-Architektur) (Octa-Core @1.6 GHz (2.1 GHz PS4 Pro))

And this game has hitches on midsize factories when running on a 3.5ghz cpu...

I mean sure it could be do able but at what cost?
