Zipline and Hoverpack
Two really great additions that come way too late in the game. I was really excited for this update until I saw how long it takes to get to the new stuff.

What's the point of adding better traversal options when you're basically at the endgame by the time you unlock them?

Zipline you get pretty early on...you get them before vehicles. Not sure where hoverpack comes.

Maybe I'm misinformed. From what I saw zipline was tier 7 and hoverpack was tier 8

I really really REALLY do wish hoverpack was earlier, I already have a bunch of mega factories so a hoverpack will help when im starting to build them, not when I already have a ton

Hoverpack got moved from tier 8 to early tier 7 in the most recent patch, so it used to be even worse. you'll have access to other means of getting around the factory better quite early, like jump pads, blade runners, there's a lot to use. the hoverpack was designed for late game builds that are larger, where a more overhead view is more useful. The progression is in a pretty good spot right now, and the dev responds to feedback all the time. The game director mentioned in a recent stream that they're still adding content to the game, so the hoverpack could end up being even earlier than tier 7, it just depends on what the final version of the game looks like. Hope this perspective helps understand a bit better.

Tier 7.
But for op, I don't think they come too late, it's practically creative mode movement.

I used the zip line like 4 times. meeeaah it's ok. Since I unlocked the Hoverpack I think my feet have hit the ground like 4 times. Love the Hoverpack, makes building so much easier.

The zipline shines during early development and exploration. It's easier than conveyors for scaling heights, and makes getting to distant outposts over varied terrain far quicker and less resource intensive than any other form of travel. It is slower than tubes, and you will always miss your connection at the worst possible time, but I am loving it for getting across bodies of water and up/down cliffs.

You can't really say its at the endgame, when the game is still in dev. More tiers will be added

Loving hoverpack, changes gameplay completely. In progression it's well placed, the game makes you earn the right. There is a lot you need to unlock and strive for assuming you choose to unlock the hoverpack first once you get to tier 7. No complaints :)

Zip line can be unlocked real early. It makes getting around early game a billion times easier. You can also access a lot of areas that would require platform spam normally. And while its slower than hyper tubes, you can get off whenever and requires no additional building or power.
I started in the grasslands this time and man its so much easier to transverse those long distances than before.
