Circle Guide?
So I keep seeing things on the community hub that are big circles. I have a basic idea of how to make a circle with foundations, however if anyone knows a specific guide that tells you how, that would be nice, as there's still a few topics I'm not quite sure on. (like how to make sure it stays circular instead of turning into an oval-type shape) I've searched lightly for a guide, but maybe I overlooked one?

I make circles using the Interactive Map (editor). Within it, you can select & copy a group of foundations and rotate them a certain number of degrees. After math'ing out the desired diameter, it's just a matter of rotating and copying a line of foundations accordingly.

Otherwise, within game, the only method I know of is to look straight down and build a foundation. Then, snap two more out away from you. Delete the first two foundations. Look down and build another foundation rotated by a certain amount (1, 2, 3, & 6 rotations per work best). Rinse & repeat.

EDIT: Using the 2nd method, you need only create a half circle. You can then extend those frames across to complete the circle. That method creates a "perfect circle" at 11 frames, or 88m diameter.

Ok thanks, I'll try the second method (I'm on experimental so I can't use mods)

The interactive map is no mod. It is a website, where you can upload your save, modify it and download it then.

I see. I'll give them both a shot. Does the interactive map use you character's personal resources or does it just duplicate the existing structure that you want duplicated? I'd rather not cheat the game, so I'd like to know before I accidentally duplicate my uranium farm 17 times. I'm fine with duplication of things such as foundations as concrete is virtually free, but like I said I'd rather not cheat my way to victory.

You decide by yourself what you want to add and what not. If you are not satisfied with the result, delete the new created save and start over editing.

When you download your modified save it has another name, so you can distinguish it from your real saves.

This Minecraft site could be useful. It has tools for figuring out the dimensions of spheres, ellipsoids, toruses and some other circular shapes, with a given diameter. When applying to Satisfactory, remember that walls and foundations tend to be 4m in height and 8m in width, so you should stack two vertically for each Minecraft block. Smoothing the surfaces out with corner foundations can also improve the overall look.

Thanks for the help. I'll give these a shot

Creating a circle using only squares is essentially what happens when you look at a circle on your monitor - it may look like a circle, but it's made up of squares. The overly-complicated way to approach this in Satisfactory, using giant 8x8 meter squares, might be to use a graphics algorithm like midpoint[en.wikipedia.org], but that seem like serious overkill. Simpler might be to create an elevated, level circle using rails, then put foundations underneath it where they look good. Then delete the rail.

there is a way to create actual circles by hand in game .. no Map Editor or mods needed. i'll do a quick step by step on how to do later, just got home from work :)
