Mouse Lock Tip
For those who wish there was an "Auto-Crafting" feature at the workbench, you can enable a feature that's built into Windows that will handle this flawlessly.

Simply go to your search bar and type in "Mouse Settings" and open the Settings that shows up in the search.

Next, Click on Additional mouse options

Finally, enable the Mouse Lock option near the bottom of the window. If you want to adjust the delay, you can also click the settings button.

So what does this do? It locks the mouse down until you click a second time after a short delay. This allows you to click and hold for a few seconds then release your mouse. The game will register the mouse still being down and you can let it do it's thing without having to use a weight or book.

Note - this won't allow you to alt tab away from the window but it does save holding down the button which gets annoying.

Enjoy!

There IS an autocrafting feature at the workbench. Just push down the spacebar for about a full second, then release spacebar and press it once again (not holding it down this time). It will continue to craft until you press spacebar again or leave the workbench screen.

This would have been good to know back when I was doing a lot of hand crafting when I made a new save file...doh. >_<

I was lucky, I discovered it by chance when I was still on Tier 1 of my new game. My arm had some kind of muscle spasm and I did it by accident lol

I'm not able to replicate what Gorby is talking about. Tried all sorts of combinations (that I could think of) and it would never stay. :(

The feature Gorby is talking about was just recently added in update 4 on the experimental branch. It isn't a thing in update 3. You just need to tap the space bar once and it'll craft until you run out of resources.

For me it only works if I tap the spacebar 3 times quickly. Seems like there are 2 or 3 ways to activate it.

Yeah sometimes I can tap spacebar 2 times fairly quickly and it works, and sometimes I have to hold it down for 0.5-1 seconds on the first "tap". Just tapping the spacebar once doesn't seem to work for me though.

Nevermind, I guess I never actually tried it before - works like a charm

I just lay my cell phone near the spacebar and rest my coffee mug on it lol.

I used to use a stapler myself, just the right amount of weight haha

Another thing that works is holding spacebar, then tabbing out of the game.
