Alternatively, look into alt recipes that take copper sheets out of the equation so you don't need as many.
As was stated, Steamed Copper Sheets are available, reducing ingot cost, but adding water cost (and consuming copper sheets to make the pipes to carry the water). I don't know how much water they take, I've never used them because a single node has always satisfied my copper sheet needs. However, I'm going to make an educated guess and say that the extra consumption to make them is way worse than just using 2 ingots.
this is how i do most of my T1 production ... Bolted Frames, Copper Rotors and Bolted Iron Plates, again phases Rods out entirely making early tier factories simpler to layout and tend to be a bit cleaner.
Same with energy consumption, by the time you unlock Refineries, you should have a big surplus of power to use, and compared to say: overclocking a Manufacturer, the few dozen extra MW a few Refineries use is nothing
^ Grandad speaks truth.
I have 36 copper sheet constructors going. I think the majority are for circuit boards. I have a couple alt recipes for the boards, but it would have disrupted something else, I don't remember though. I believe I have 4 things that require the sheets. As stated in the OP, I just have no alts for that, period.
For circuit boards the plastic + quickwire is way more effective.
Heatsinks should also be done with casings and rubber alternate.
The alt for rotors is not really worth it.
Steal rotors are the way to go.
This of course depends on where you need things and what is available there.
