Vertical position of map marker?
Hi, I died with a lot of my gear after forgetting I wasn't wearing my jetpack and stepping off a cliff onto solid ground below. I have returned to where I died, and the map marker says I am standing right on top of my death crate, but I can't see it. I know this happens when stuff is above or below me, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way to tell the height of a marker on the map relative to my or see its y coordinate or somesuch?

No, the in-game map/marker don't tell you the xyz coordinates. However, you can upload the save to the interactive map and try to place the crate higher so you can reach it, if it seems to be under the ground / you can't reach it.

In case you want to do it:

You'll find the save games here %localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames.

Upload or drag and drop the file there, find the crate, right-click, and select "Update loot-crate position". The Z-value is the vertical position of where the object is. When you're done and have selected "submit", download the savefile again, and place it in the same folder as the others.

It's been my experience that the box is not placed where you land, but the last place you were considered alive, which could be on the ledge from which you fell, or halfway down the fall.
Although typically I die falling into the abyss, so either way it's in mid-air.

Thanks, when I used the map editor, I found that the crate was embedded in solid rock, so I did end up having to move it.
