Is the belt connected to it full?
Do you have enough power on your grid?
Is it SAM ore?
Are we supposed to read your mind or guess all the details?
Then this is normal behaviour. S.A.M. Ore works differently in the game then all the other nodes.
Only when the game is loaded it gives you 15-99 ore after that nothing until you reload youre game again.
From the wiki:
S.A.M. Ore, which stands for Strange Alien Metal, is a rare resource found in the world.
Currently, S.A.M. resource nodes will only produce 15-99 ore, sharing properties with resource deposits; after this amount of ore is extracted, no more will be produced until the game is reloaded (the node will stay in place, and the Miner's Indicator Light will flash yellow). Node purity and Miner mark has no effect on the mined amount.

More details are needed. "Something stopped working" isn't nearly helpful enough.
If you have enough power to run the miner and it's still stopping, then the only reason would be a backup of ore. The miners will only hold 100 ore in its buffer. Be sure that your belt is moving ore at least as fast as your miner is producing it (anything over 60 per minute will need more than a MK1 belt). Also, be sure that your smelters/constructors are consuming the same amount or more than your miner is producing.
If you're not sure what's going on. Check the entire production line from you miner to the final destination of whatever you're mining. Be sure to check the inputs and outputs of each machine. Also, be aware that some items that are made in the assembler/manufacturer only stack to 50.
I have 2 lines as follows:
Line 1 = Iron Ore Impure Miner -> Smelter -> Constructor -> Storage
Line 2 = Copper Ore Miner -> Smelter -> Constructor -> Storage
I have read about over clocking and under clocking elsewhere but I don't have that unlocked either.
Next time I play I will check the inventory of each device, but with conveyors all leading to the next item they should stay empty.
I produced about 200 copper wire before it stopped (empty conveyors and nothing being produced) and about 120 iron bars with the other line.
This has happened on other play throughs but I always just started over thinking it was something I did. I am sure it IS something I did but not knowing the game I don't know what it could be.
No worries. If things like copper wire are indeed making it into your storage then it's not a belt connection issue. Copper wire stacks to 500. So, if your constructor isn't holding 500 wire in its output then it should be moving.
If your conveyors in your production lines are empty and your miner isn't operating, then make sure your biomass burners are full and running.
If you have the power to run your machines and your machine's input/output isn't full, then there might be a problem somewhere else. Possibly a bad connection with a belt somewhere. When placing belts, it's best to lay down machines first then connect the belt between machines. I know people have had issues when trying to attach machines to belts instead of the other way around.
I'd recommend unlocking over/underclocking ASAP. You'll want to build a MAM for that and complete research (I think it's in the power slug category) for Overclock Production. If I remember correctly, you won't see that in the MAM until you've picked up a power slug (Again, if I am remembering it right. If not hopefully someone corrects me).
i built copper and iron ore miners and added all the other bits to the chain of parts such as turning ore into ingots and sheet , i added biomass to the chain of parts and everything worked straight away , i also built coal miner hubs.
It was several days before everything stopped and it was only when i checked my layout that i realised NONE of my different miner units had any power to make them work , i had forgot to add power to them so the question has to be how did they manage to work when i first built them.
I also added storage between the miner and the smelter so it wont get backed up, in case that was the problem. Once I unlock clocking I will also give that a try.
Thank you all for your advice.
