Where are in-game photos saved?
Found a few old threads showing different paths to where the in-game photos are supposedly saved, ie users/username/appdata/local/etc.... but I cannot find any of my pictures.

There's no such folder on my computer. Do I have to create it manually? Or are they still somewhere else? The game does seem to save them, but I could never figure out where are they on the disk.

In Windows, when you use File Explorer to search for a folder called 'My Games', what do you find?

I use a different file manager and have cortana and windows search completely nuked on my computer, but everything I find basically links to "Documents > My Games". Inside there's a bunch of folders for other games I have, but no FactoryGame folder and when I search for this name across the disk there are only two instances, one inside the steam folders where the actual game is kept and the other in appdata where the saves are.

open the Steam Screenshot Uploader and click on the Show On Disk. that will take you right to the path you want.

edit: additionally you will find the FactoryGame folder in %appdata%/Local
you can access this by pressing Win button + R .. type %appdata% and press Enter.

another note, if you aren't using F12 to take your screenshots then those screenshots appear elsewhere, i can't recall off hand the location since i've not used the in game screenshots since i played on Epic.

This is where the Pictures from the ingame picturemaker goes.

@EntreNous did you made them with the ingame piucturetaker or with the steam picturemaker?

Ok, I figured it out. I fired up ProcessMonitor and watched for the game process disk IO and it seems that it was indeed trying to save the screenshot in the correct folder, but there's a dot in my user profile name under C:\Users\ and the game removes it from the screenshot file path for some reason, which results in failure to actually write the screenshot to disk even though the game reports it was saved. I created a symbolic link to my user profile without the dot and the screenshot was finally saved. I believe this is a bug that should be reported.

@Kraft51
Steam screenshots work fine and I know where to find them, it's just that the built-in screenshot system seem to have some extra features, and I was wondering why it doesn't work anyways.

:D

Glad you found the error.

And never use special characters in your username ;). Especially not . and : and @ .

Well in fact I didn't. My user name is like "user" and for some reason the profile folder is named "user.DESKTOP-(buncha crap)". The game tries to save screenshot to "userDESKTOP-etc." and fails.

Hmm, OK :)
