Hard Drive Cheat: https://ficsit.app/mod/EwUwhxhEFCSSdw
-craft hard drives for 100 iron plates
and
Unlock Alternate Recipes: https://ficsit.app/mod/6ZdGVUZKWSrrXD
Tier 0 Milestone unlocks 70 Alternate Recipes + 10 Inventory Slots and You can exchange Hard Drives for Power Shards.
And the mod is something that is a tier to unlock so you can just leave it alone if you don't want to use it that run.
Exactly.
However, in order for the trainer to give you infinite hard drives, you do have to have one on you. If you've already scanned the ones you've found, you'll have to reload a save or find another. There are a few "easy" ones that either don't require an unlock item, but they're sometimes hard to reach without sky bridges.
The trainer also has a Super Jump, and infinite health, and one-hit kills, if that's your thing. The Super Jump works great with the jet pack, and you really want infinite health when super-jumping.
Even if you don't want all the other stuff the trainer offers, using the infinite items bit on hard drives is well worth it. Of course this also means you can have infinite slugs, and power shards, and ammo, but that's up to you.
so just type:
!give hard drive 70 (or maybe "!give harddrive 70")
however, there are only 70 collectible hard drives in the game so far... and you can't scrap or sink them. So if you pick them up, you'll be stuck with them in your inventory/storage bins forever.
I believe it was always that way. You cannot unlock alternatives for tiers that you haven't unlocked yet. It makes a lot of sense though, as it makes sure that you will always unlock things that is useful to you at the time.
You will also be more likely to get the 2 inventory increases early.
I unlocked all tiers and have already automated all of the stuff including electricity which I did with Turbofuel. Next project is 10x Turbomotor, so that`s why I wanted alternative recipe for Heat Exchanger and after 30+ attempts - still didn`t get it. :)
That`s an interesting one, I might try it. I still have couple of HDD`s in my stash.
Power is fully automated with double of current demand - just in case.
I`m fine with time, I can wait 10 mins for each HDD, it adds to anticipation factor. :)
I've had the game since April. Spent the 7 weeks of shutdown playing it, so yeah, been everywhere, done everything. Got 10 reactors on a mesa in the desert, now it's just experimentation.
I've located all of the drives/crash sites, unlocked all that I could (super position oscillator and quantum computer exceptions), so the trainer is just for "fun". Caves are still scary, even with one-hit kills and infinite health.
And yeah, it makes sense that the available recipes pertain only to your current level; no sense having turbo fuel when you haven't unlocked coal yet. Still, dedicating a couple of hours to spamming recipes alleviates that step in later levels, where you can focus only on building.
I prefer to have alternate recipes when they are most beneficial. In my first run, I had everything done and then went looking for them, just for "something to do". I was disappointed, obviously, once I started unlocking things I had need of in the early game.
For my second run, I spent some time hunting them down once coal was up and running.
For my 3rd run, I hit upon the idea of reloading the save if the scan came up weak.
So, diff'rent strokes.
And I was mistaken: The game speed cheat in the trainer reduces hard drive scanning to 2 minutes, not "seconds" as I said before. Still, 2 minutes x 30 drives is an hour. Better than 700 minutes!
