How i get Conveyor elevator to go from top to down
I have a elevator that bring stuff up, i want a conveyor that take it down again, but i can not rotate it so it input is at top. Was alpha tester but i forgot this thing as i not play for like a year or so :)

Btw Price on Steam is way to cheap for this game... Prices should reflect the game, and 29USD is way to cheap :)

You have to start it from somewhere elevated, then aim down

i feared that,, hard to start at a belt from 1 elevator to an elevetor that already need a belt to be put up there:)

A trick is to use walls with hole(s) for conveyor belt, standard poles or stackable poles, attach a short belt in the direction you want, and then build the lift from top to bottom.

If you're trying to build a lift from the ground up but want its direction to be that of a "lower-er":

Place and rotate a Splitter in front of you so that its input is where you want the lift to output. Snap the lift to the Splitter and raise it up to the necessary height. Delete the Splitter. Sip coffee.

Can also use the same technique with a conveyor pole...At the top of the cliff place a pole where the lift will snap to...place a short bit of track from that pole to where every it is going, to get direction belt is going....Now snap the lift to the pole/conveyor overhanging the cliff and bring it down....when you bring the conveyor down below to it, it should snap to it (assuming you got your direction up above right)

Thanks ill remember this, started make walls and stuff, much easier.

btw is there a better site for ratio setup that is not a video?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKyVyCtkjgI&ab_channel=TotalXclipse

that show same as this video how he set em up in a tight unit with cargo container.

Elevators usually work with the direction of the belt but if you don't have a belt connected to a machine the belt doesn't really know which direction it needs to go yet. So place something that has an input/output in the correct directions like a splitter (as noted above) and work with that.
I always attach my elevators to splitters at both ends, just in case I need it later.

But, the devs need to rework the code on the elevators, they should just realign theirselves to whichever direction the belts/machines are flowing regardless of how you attached them initially.

ah just put down a spillet with direction in would actually work.. easy tip :) tnx

elevators work with the same from-to principle like conveyors do, they start where you start to place it.
exception is, when you attach it to an existing connection - no matter if on the from or to step - it takes the direction from the existing connection.

that way it works flawlessly. you can even just put a short 1m section of a conveyor to indicate the flow direction, then attach a conveyor(lift) to the in-end to make it work the other way.
quite helpful if you want to place a conveyor going up a slope or cliff but want to start building on the high side.

nope.
that would completely mess things up.

did you never happen to try to put a machine or container the wrong way accidently? imagine the conveyors try to automatically adjust to it, it could mess up half a factory and you realize only half an hour later.

So you bumped a 4 year old topic on something unrelated?
sfrazer 18 OCT 2024 a las 18:28
If the lift isn't moving in the direction you want, you can hit R to reverse it. This doesn't work with belts, unfortunately

No need for a mod, there's a trick for it in vanilla. Place a floor hole above/below where you want to build the lift, start building, and get close enough to the floor hole. Or alternatively, you can do floorhole to floorhole. Either way it'll ignore max length and snap right to the floor hole.

Reddit thread with pics that probably make it clearer than words ever could: https://old.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1152o5n/freshs_infinite_conveyorlift_simple/

Provided a belt isn't aimed in the wrong direction - tap the R key to reverse direction.

No mods or tricks needed.

Step 1: left click once to place hologram
Step 2: Tap R Key to get direction you want.
Step 3: Drag/drop where you want length wise.
Step 4: left click again to lock it in.

holy necro,
Also if you go floor hole to floor hole you have unlimited reach.
