Yes, you're going to need tons of it for various things.

alright, but i mean i am literally making it and putting it in storage rather than automating the creation of the things with the wire.

You'll want it automated. Copper wire and cables are used in the tens of thousands for lots of things.

yeah i just saw that you use wire for the power towers. or whatever their called, Thanks mate!

As your game advances, you'll discover more and more recipes that use them (directly or indirecly). So you'll need tons of them.

Just for an example, I've just setup a new mini factory that produces 240 per minute and aren't that many as I could use... (just for a mini project)

Produce TONS from everything dude .... dont think too small

Automate everything. Hand-crafting is nice just to say you did it, but you'll need massive quantities for more than just power poles.
Same goes for everything else, especially cable.

Get the alternate recipes for iron wire and stitched iron plate, and use those on a pair of iron nodes to make reinforced iron plate more easily.

alright thanks for the advice guys!

early game you don't need it for my self i just automate the mineing and refineing for copper ingots then dump them in to a storage box and just craft the wire and cables my self.. to keep the power needs low; Once you get coal power plants set up you should automate as much as you can

Having an industrial size container full of basically everything is not a bad idea... except for like, raw ores and ingots (and maybe some difficult to build items you generally won't need in bulk like supercomputers). At the very least, check the building requirement of every manufacturing building and make sure you have plenty of all of that stuff. You never know when you're going to need 1000 motors for a project. just for the buildings.

good rule of thumb, if its a basic material, everything you'll want later will require it.

having a surplus on hand is a good idea as well so if you find out a big factory section puts your demand of something over your supply, you can adjust without everything slowing down.

the best thing to handcraft when you just start should be iron rods. its 16 times faster than a constructor compared to other things that are mostly 2-4 times as fast. the worst thing to craft by hand is probably solid biofuel which is only about 1.5 times as fast
