Conveyor Height should be adjusted with a key

When building a conveyor belt I can't tell if there's going to be invalid steepness, shape, or clearance at the desired height until I've selected a ground point. Why do they do it this way? You should be able to hold Shift or something to switch to height adjustment and then be able to fine tune the placement of your conveyor while it's up on a pole. Committing to a ground point before you can adjust height is dumb, especially since there's no "go back" option. If you pick the wrong spot you need to cancel out entirely and select your starting point again. It's so needlessly tedious.
