Water Extractor "dead zones"?
It seems there is an oddly shaped area of ocean east of the swamp biome where you can't build Water Extractors. In this picture the area in red roughly outlines where you can't build them, while you can build them in the areas outlined in green.

Anyone know of an existing map of these "dead zones" where you can't build extractors? I tried searching but couldn't find anything and I'd rather not go through the trouble of checking the whole area before I start building out there.

Have you taken a swim to see if it's too shallow? The level designer might have "forgotten" to level it down enough, or perhaps it's intentional.

Seems weird if it is deep enough.
I know of a dead zone near there, towards the giant rocks that border the waterfall into the south void.

The issue is the water mesh can break, and the water extractor doesnt notice.
Yes those exist. The oceans are not finished yet. If you dive down underneath the ocean you'll notice that the "water" is only about 1-2 meters deep and then if you get below that you fall down into the abyss. There's no bottom to the oceans. The entire ocean area is completely unfinished. Do remember this is an early access game and many parts of the game just aren't finished yet. In general I do believe the developers intended us to only build on the land and they don't intend us to build out over top of the water at the moment. That's just my thoughts though.

Also, if you go out far enough from shore the entire ocean mesh breaks and turns into empty void.
This will be my first "mega" build and I'm going all in on the pure ingot recipes. Also I was hoping to build my nuclear plants and fuel unit factories out there and wanted to be sure I'd be able to extract water where I need it.

I don't doubt it will be fixed or changed at some point, I'm pretty sure I'll have enough room between the swamp coast and the red zone but I was hoping there was a map so I wouldn't have to worry about it as much.

And yes, as I was building the foundation walkways out there I accidentally ran off the end and fell right through the world... the visible water is a lie lol. The weird thing is you can build foundations, constructors, etc in the red area but not water extractors.

Pro tip for you: You can build walls out over the water with no foundations underneath, then go down through the water with the walls, then place floors down, underneath where the "actual water is", then run a conveyor down at an angle then "swim down" underneath the conveyor until you "pop through the other side" and end up in your "floor underneath the water" and build quite "Deep" down from the surface under there. I haven't tried to figure out how far down it goes but you can go really, really far down with it into "The void". It's dangerous building down there though because if you forget where you are and remove a floor you can fall into the abyss, but it's something to think about.
Sounds like that might be a good place for nuclear waste storage, I've seen a video or 2 where people did something similar
