As for egs being slow and confusing...its really not. Be honest about it, all your games are on steam and you want it there as well. And the only way to do that, is to rebuy it.
So at the point the questions become: 1. Does EGS allow you to access your CD-Keys and 2. Has Coffee Stain setup allowing those CD-Keys to be redeemable on Steam.

If you really like the game, like I do, then whats another 30 odd bucks to help them keep developing, think of Epic as a bonus early access year and besides you got heaps of free games from Epic so its not like it really cost that much. Well you could have.

As to it being slow on Epic. I have noticed in other Epic games that if you close down the Epic Launcher the game runs much better. This might be your problem.
Learn to spell.
