Keeping your stuff when you die
Is there a way to configure the game to allow me to respawn with my inventory? I'm finding this game frustrating to the point where I'm not having any fun playing it because I'll inevitably lose a bunch of stuff somewhere that I can't get it back. 2020 has brought me enough bad luck on top of bad luck and I'd just like to go building a factory in peace.

Finally, "that's how it is" is tautological and pointless. I'm sorry in advance that my preferences are different from yours.

This is not true. You can always get back everything after you die. Your crate will always be there where you died even if you exit the game and re-load it a few days later, even if the marker disappears from the compass. The crate is still there.

Autosaves are there for a reason.

My crate exists but is unreachable.

I think this might be my only option - luckily all the time I wasted was in trying to reach my crate so it's not like it'll set back my progress.

It's just frustrating - it feels like there are so many neglected aspects of this game. Investment has really been into screenshots.

Exactly how is your crate unreachable?

If you died in a gas cloud then you can construct a gas mask and filters at home and then go get the crate back.

If you fell off a cliff then exit the game to the main menu and load your most recent save again (After falling off) and your crate will spawn on the edge of the cliff where you fell off.

If you died in the middle of monsters then create a 1-1 tunnel of foundations, walls, and ceilings and make your way into the middle to build around and over top of your crate then loot it.

There is no "completely unreachable" situation of dying in this game. Everything can be recovered.

My 2 cents: https://ficsit.app/
At that link you can find a lot of useful stuff, even for recover from a really unrecoverable situation...

Hey Zabo if you want, you can upload your save here, find your missing crate and transfer its inventory somewhere else. Don't forget to download the savefile once you're done editing it.
https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/interactive-map#2.25;50302;0|gameLayer|

Savefiles are located here: %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames

If you're a new player, I suggest you don't spoil yourself too much with this map though, exploration is a lot of fun and thrill

Just change the x,y, or preferably the z value so you can reach it using that interactive-map (right-click and edit).

If you think it's pointless and redundant when people tell you that's how it is then perhaps you should try to accept that it's really just how it is. It's equally pointless to say you're sorry when you really aren't.

The mod "Passive Mode" removes all hostile creatures and gas clouds...but not radiation damage!
koji Oct 2, 2020 @ 5:25am
i had the same happen to me when i build the infinity storage tower i died to radiation when i tried fixing the conveyers so the nuclear waste gets transfered upwards in the sky i've looked for hours and couldnt find the crate. what happened was i fixed the vonveyer but was low on health because of nuclear waste so i jatpacked away from the storage and die midair very high up

Thank you for the good ideas. It's still frustrating, and I'm still disappointed to have to do so much unnecessary work to play this game but I do feel like I can get unblocked.

There is a way for your stuff to be completely unreachable, just a second ago i was using hyper tubes and i glitched into a rock and my crate was inside it. I had to load back to the day before to have all of my items and tools back.
