Will there ever be automated defense like turrets or enemies that try to attack a base, etc.??

No. Satisfactory is for softcore gamers. It's just casual relaxing factory automation and resource extraction. It would be really cool if there was a mode like you mentioned but the devs said no to it early on. Not sure if you got the game yet but the only enemies are there just to troll you while you explore. It's a good game though!

I have no issues with these devs at all, their humour speaks volumes over the last year or so, they are relaxed and not in financial trouble, they are confident, and obviously awesome programmers, the game sales are looking pretty awesome from both Epic and Steam and the devs have never tried to mislead us from my knowledge.

But I especially like there humour !

And with Covid, and half the world shutting down, a 2 month break, after what they have already delivered, Ive watched from day one release on Epic, and now play the steam version, these guys have delivered.

The quality of this game for an EA game is astonishing vs most other Steam EA games especially performance.

Let em have a holiday, they earned it, there is really no question they will be back to finish the game, and every update has been pretty awesome if you have followed them.

Of all the EA Steam games, this one is the one you should worry the least about !
