Screws Man
It feels like half my factory is dedicated to just making screws, and I'm still WAY behind on them alone.

Anyone have some useful strategies for satisfying your screw needs?

Yes, alternate recipes. Some of them will make screws cheaper to make, some higher-tier alt recipes will make them screws free (most notably rotors and reinforced iron plates which you'll need to mass produce in later stages of the game)
Yea, I've been hunting for screw recipes, but so far all I've gotten are useless crap like Quartz to Concrete.
Keep getting the hard drives. Once you get Casted Screws and especially Steel Screws you can make them really fast.
What Tier are you? Some useful recipes can't be unlocked until you reached specific milestones. Although most screw-reducing recipes should be unlockable pretty early on I think.
General rule of Satisfactory: keep grinding for those hard drives lol
Just unlocked Steel on this map.

You should be good. Once again: keep hunting for these
automate creation of screws
Ah, good to know there are alternate recipes that don't use a bajillion and a half screws. Having only casted screws at the moment and trying to get the plastic-including production chains up and going... I'm looking at installing a total of 4 tier 3 belts to still not keep up with screw demand. I think I was looking at hardened frames taking something stupid like 100 per minute? Or was it computers? Doesn't matter, just when you think you've solved screw supply for continuous flow production - you realize you need to double it, again, and install associated logistics.
Cables will be another one to hope there's an alternate recipe for. If it ain't screws, it's wire that you can never have enough of.

Did... did you just assume that I've been making them by hand all the way up to unlocking steel? I can't tell if you think I'm extremely dedicated, or just a complete idiot.

There's even an alt recipe for reinforced plate that eats 250 screws per minute lol, hungry assembler. But really guys when you unlock other alt recipes and gather more ressources, screws won't be a problem anymore no worries about that. Midgame you just have to dedicate half of your factory to it... I hope they'll change the screw's look cause the blue box is ugly

Thanks man, after I finished handcrafting those 1000 turbomotors and 750 batteries I thought this game was very boring
Cant wait building miners and constructors to finally have some fun

I keep saying that a game with like 50 players (if the game will even support that... probably not) would be really interesting to see unfold as autominers and hand crafting would dominate production early on.
Granted, this is assuming it would work similarly to how factorio works... haven't played around with online.
The problem isn't screw production, the problem is screw transmission. I dislike having more than a single line dedicated to a resource, and you can't get enough screws into a bus to fully automate a large production line until T4 belts.

I'd love an upgraded assembler that has 3 ports just for this.
I unlocked all tiers with only one alternate receipt for wires I think. You just need imagination, fast M4 belts and many splitters and merge items :). Ofc my factory was a spagetti mess but hey, got the job done :)
