Clearing a resource node?
I don't know if it's just me but I don't see anyway to clear a resource node in order to place a Miner Mk1, Stuff like this should be a lot simpler or clearer on how to do.

You mean clear it of the big spiky-ish rock? Mine the rock manually by holding E, it'll break and you can put a miner on it.

Just approach the center of the node and press E to pick at it and you will clear it.

What? You mean clearing away the big growth on top of it? Clear it by hand, you get a prompt to do it. Yeah some take a few more whacks than others.
Also try putting a portable miner in your hand slot. Never tried it myself, but I did notice you can equip them.

If there is a lump of pure ore sticking out of the center of the node and blocking your miner, manually harvest it until it breaks. If a node is covered by a grey rock boulder that cannot be harvested, you'll need to blast it with nobelisk bombs after you have unlocked those with the sulfur chain in the MAM.

You mean using the hand chisel? All that seems to do is give me more ore like before I got the portable miner..

Hmm, a simple text saying to chisel the big rock in the center will clear it is all the game needs to make it clear on what to do.

The dev team is still working on implementing major features, so they might not have gotten to the point where they feel that they can divert time to adding to a more expansive tutorial yet. They have a ways to go before v1.0. Be sure to check http://questions.satisfactorygame.com to see whether anyone has suggested that Coffee Stain add more hints and tips to the tutorial. If no one has brought it up yet, submit the suggestion so we can upvote it.

Pure nodes will drop 36 iron ore before being destroyed

Well, yeah, but that's what you have to do. Some clear faster than others, so make sure you're targeting the clump and hold down the button until it clears. Then you can drop a miner on it.

in order to place a miner on a node you need to clear it off destuctable ore There are two types of destructable resource nodes-- the ones on the big minable sites and random ones placed around the world. I've found one concrete node in the newbie forest starting area that one of each kind of node on it so you have to destroy the random one too before you can place a mine

you hold e until it breaks. It goes for a little bit before breaking and then you can keep holding e on the node itself if you dont have a miner.

The guy might be talking about the giant boulder you sometimes see on ore nodes just find another node they can't be cleared unless you have Nobelisk explosives... There's plenty of easy to grab ore nodes in the mean time and if you really need the resources from that one node then just place a bunch of portables

tl,dr: Hit it with something until it starts working.
