I know this is just a game, but I still don't think it should be unreasonably easy. What's the fun if everything is already pre-built for you?

and this one:

I don't think you will accomplish anything by showing him tutorials, OP clearly just wants the game to figure out his mess for him, he's tool lazy to use the in-game mechanics to make things work
(S)He does not seem to even have the game .. at least under this username on Steam (no mouse beside the usename) .. maybe some other way..
But, posting links so other users do not fall victim to FUD is always a good thing :)
Of course, I was just having a giggle. Cheers!
Factorio has a very powerful inventory system where you can have filters on inventory slots and force slots to not get used. That sort of stuff isn't very useful for small boxes, but it'd be a fantastic help for using vehicles and depots. When there are dozens of item types, using a single car for each individual item is a bit harsh when you only need a stack of each.
Fuel delivery can't be done very effectively, since there's no way to restrict the storage size (while ultimately that solution would work.. once the truck stop and the station are full of fuel)
It would also allow more clever handling of the intermediate goods (drop off Motors and pick up Turbo Motors at station X). It can be done by having longer trains and platforms so each wagon is used for one thing at a time only, but it's just so clunky.
Compare to Factorio, where you can use filter inserters and station rules (wait until there's X amount of Y in train, wait X seconds, train full/train empty) to do a lot. Not to mention tools Factorio's train system has for multiple trains on the same track.
It can be worked around, but it'd be nicer to have more options to them.
You know the game originally released on Epic right?
smart splitter are to Compactify factory settings but most of the time they not really work as should.
as for the smart container it should have a control panel that you can put in what resources it should put out at a interval per min something with a top exist like overflow option like that would already be ton helpful in more complex factory settings.
There are enough resources around to simply build dedicated containers per resource or product. I just build the large containers on top of one another and the dual ins and outs direct everything to go where it has to go. Using 'smart splitters' never even enter my plans as I deem them unnecessary
