Moving Objects

Is there any way you can move objects without dismantling them fully? Biggest pain point is having storage containers full of items or the small storage boxes full of stuff and having to drop all into an empty one, grab from another and move the items to a new one at the new location. Would be so much easier if you can just move the object.

I was mostly referring to when you want to tear down your factory and start over with newer tech and a better structure for it. Doing so by purely dismantling just leaves tons of crates in the way that you can't build over and makes a mess everywhere. Was hoping there was a way to move the storage units since they have quite a few material components inside.

They only show if your inventory is full so I guess best bet is to drop down a big box and toss your inventory in there in the mean time.

Well......you can't exactly move the objects themselves. However you can kindof abuse the mass dismantle mechanic by setting all of the storage containers to dismantle, then going somewhere out of the way and holding left click to dismantle- Your inventory is not enough to contain all of the resources you dismantled, so what happens is any excess will drop as a single lootable crate.

It's not a perfect solution, but, it gets the things out of the way quickly without simply deleting the stored resoruces....you do of course then have to manually empty it and put it back into the new places after you rebuild, though.

Yeah, moving Containers is the worst. Moving an entire Storage Facility is an actual Nightmare.

Would be nice if you could actually just lift and carry the crate in your hand slot.

build a container area somwhere off your new ground an let them be transportet there
i do the same and while it transports the items i dismantle all buildings

ok ok it can be fast if you dismantle them all at once .... but i dont see another way
