Question re alternate recipe unlocking

I am stuck trying to unlock alternate recipies and need a pointer.

I found a HDD - check
I recovered the HDD in the MAM - check
I cannot find the recipe to unlock in the HUB - fail


If I look at the wiki/You Tube it says I should be able to select a tier in the Hub and scroll to the right to find the recipies to unlock but they don’t show up there at all.

The recipies do show up in the Codex and if I mouse over the item but, cannot be used in any machine.

Has unlocking these changed? Any tips as to where I should be looking in the HUB ?

Unlocking alternate recipes by completing a milestone in the hub was changed with Update 3. Now, researching the hard drive is all you need to do. Also, you used to be able to hand-craft alternate recipes, but that is also no longer the case, and all alternate recipes can only be made by machines.

Ok thank you. I found them now , they only show up in certain machines not in all machines.

I had found an alloy recipe and couldn’t see it in smelters or assemblers. I drove to a foundry and it is there as an option.

This is why I have an RND area next to my "home base" where my stock of supplies are. Just one of each machine that can make things so I can check them for recepies and sometimes use them to craft one off items I don't need a lot of atm like Becons etc.
