Interesting uses for Jump Pads and Jelly Landing Pads.
I have never figured out how to use these things: they don't seem to go far enough to be useful. Has anyone come up with any novel uses?

i imagine one use would be to get up a good few floors.
.
like that wizards house in skyrim the dude that lives in a mushroom with the dragonborn dlc.
instead of stairs he uses magic to pull you up a few floors.
.
edit:
i also imagine the angled onces are great for crossing great cliffs
i guess i should try them as well a few platforms and a few jump pads would save on alot of ladders and concrete.

Hm.... I have multistory buildings and I always get annoyed when I have to walk up the stair. I totally forgot about jump pads, I might use them for this.

That's the obvious use, sure, but they get replaced by hypertubes really quick. It doesn't help that the hyper tubes are also faster and more accurate. Still struggling to find a use for these guys; regarding canyons, I build bridges since anywhere I go, a logistics supply line of tractors is sure to soon follow if any resources are there.

get a ticket form the awesome sink, feed it the ticket, but the cyber wagon. there is a bug that makes the cyber wagon fly long distances with jump pads.

i have a jelly pad in my tower just so i can drop from whatever floor i end up going to instead of carefully going back down the stairs a few at a time

I tried using jump pads for like 30 mins on my first map, and I ended up just saying ♥♥♥♥ it...the hassle of trying to set the angled ones with jelly in the proper place for the landing....it just caused me to die a LOT trying to set it up properly. I suppose I could try using the vertical jump pads for elevation hopping in my base, but tbh, I just use the ladders on the sides of the stackable conveyor poles because it costs no energy and all of 5 seconds to set up.

i used some angled ones to get across my factory after having a mess with them.
.
blade runners HIGH recommended otherwise i'd of died a few times.

well, with hyper tubes the possibilities are endless, you could have a tube over a jump pad that will further accelerate you in any given direction. from there its landing which you'll need jetpack, parachutes, or a jelly pad to catch you so you dont die from the fall.

I use them to give me extra speed launching into the hyper tubes.

I just set up a few launchpads vertically on multi-floor factories, in addition to hypertubes, because I actually find it easier to travel to middle floors that way. I use the hypertubes mainly for top to bottom floor travel or long distance.

Angled jump pads, on the other hand, always seem like a recipe for disaster. And in MP - they both usually end in tears lol

i find that the jump pads are more for small range transport such as floor to floor and i use hypertubes for traveling to POIs in the map.

Yep, that's exactly what I do when I don't feel like setting up a full loop accelerator.

1. Build sky bridge over/near an alien patrol route
2. Place jump pad at some point along their route (tweaking the position may be required as they can walk around it)
3. Connect power
4. Enjoy the show

Works best with the spitters and armored hog things. Just stay out of spitter targeting range.
