Is there an easy way to rebuild my factory in a new location, or any suggestions on the best way to go about this?
Started in an area of the map that isn't as open as I'd like. Is there a good way to rebuild my factory in a new location not too far away? Even doing small adjustments or reworking my iron system seems to take a while and I'm only around Tier 4 & 5. Will I get anything to help with this? Should I wait? Should I slowly build a new section and then delete the old ones once they're working?

There is no easy way unless you want to start over. We can't carbon-copy our entire setup and just "move" it somewhere.

You can dismantle everything and re-build it at the new site.
Yes, you deconstruct the hub and take it with you. the hub is meant to be used to start buildings in new areas.
You can always just bring the hub start a new place. One option is to have a vehicle transport the processed goods from the old location to a new location if you have a smart splitter yet.

You have to rebuild it manually.

As for the old factory, I just feed everything into the Awesome grinder.

Yes, this is the fastest way, instead of moving everything.

Wait if you deconstruct the hub will you need to upgrade it again? Do you get all the upgrade resources back if deconstructed?

The Hub never downgrades. You also dont loose anything by deconstructing the Space Elevator. You can literally scrap everything in this game without loosing anything.
In fact, thats what most of us do. Constantly.

Area Actions mod can help with this. mass-dismantle can pack up an entire area into one box. there is also copy/paste (but it doesnt copy belts).

I'd prefer a mode where you can simply pick up a constructed machine and relocate it, or just tweak its alignment/position slightly, rather than having to disintegrate everything when you just want to re-position it.

So deconstructing doesn’t break it back into resources? It’s just a fully built stored structure you can place back down when you want?

Its does break it back into resources, but exactly the amount of resources you put in. You dont loose anything.

decontructing always bring back resources,BUT you didn't put resources into the hub itself, you sent them to space with the shuttle on top of hub(tbh i cant bother immersion but looks like you need it

I think he's asking if you have to rebuild each upgrade of the hub - the biomass burners, etc.

I haven't moved my HUB, so I can't say for sure, but as each stage of its construction is actually a model swap, and not separate items stacked in slots (which the game's physics engine wouldn't allow anyway), it's safe to assume that if you dismantle your HUB during any phase of its completion and rebuild it someplace else, you get exactly what you dismantled.

that's a yes
