that being said.. there IS a mod out there...
Yes, I know, I mentioned the mod. My point, that i cannot be THAT hard to add 24x24 foundations.
Once that's down, align yourself with your left right on the edge you want to expand, facing down the runway of foundation you just built. You can then sprint forward, placing foundations to your left/right as quick as you can run.
Yes, running like that makes it easy and really fast to build huge platforms of foundations (without any mod).
Then put the ghost 'to build' foundation as far away as you can get it and just hit left mouse continually... it will build an entire line of foundations from that first ghost to where you currently are, without having to actually point at the right spot.
Of course 5x5 or 24x24 would also be nice, but with this method I can build fast and still account for eges/pillars/boulders (not just rockst)/...
I have tried this before and I find it just as tedious. I even found a method where you can sprint forward and place foundations to the side and in front of you simultaneously, by specifically aligning the cross hair, essentially doubling the speed. And still: tedious.
Well, it kind of is. It's like saying: "I could get good at game X by playing a lot and training efficiently, but it just saves a lot of hours to use aimbot/money-hack/no_clip." Cheats are part of a game, too. And especially in single player they have a legitimate place, but this is not the way I would want to play a game. Of course it is subjective what one considers cheating. My threshold is different than yours and that's okay, because no one's fun is being denied in a game as Satisfactory because it is single-player/co-op.
I just would like it, if the devs added something like 24x24 foundations. I would consider this addition a legitimate tool, whereas world editing would feel kind of wrong to me.
