Power usage spikes that fix themselves...? Train related?
I was cruising along just fine until I built a train. Now my fuses blow probably once every 30 minutes but resetting them 3 or 4 times magically makes everything fixed again. See screenshot.

This only started happening after I built a train. I rode the train and it never spiked to +100MW or anything weird. What is happening? Does the train use variable power based on freight load or somehow use more power running over wildlife? It is completely inconsistent. I don't know what's causing the spike in power usage that eventually just fixes itself after a few resets.

production lines can halt when the storage is full at the end of the line, this means as the whole line backs up, it stops taking power, then you remove a stack and the whole line requires power again...

trains use more power setting off from a stop and when going uphill
those are two common factors anyway...

also when train arrives at freight platform that requires power like truck stops...

Yeah, I don't think it's the lines. I haven't really changed much and have been making computers for what seems like forever now. Not much has changed there at all.

That makes sense. I sat in the train for a few loops to see what the MW at the bottom indicated but there were no spikes > 80MW if I remember correctly.

The train will make 3 or 4 complete circuits with no issue and then all the sudden this happens. That's what doesn't make sense to me. Is it running something over and needing to use the boost to get through? :P

well whatever it is the bottom line is you need more power, trains also act as power cables, so linking power grids via tracks is awesome, you can have the power transfer between your coal areas, fuel generators, and where ever you then place track/station you end up connecting the whole thing onto a single power grid.

Oh yes, 705MW is way way too little when starting playing with Trains. In this session I don't have Trains yet, but I got over 3700MW on coal just to ensure a long play time....

Oh, good to know. I rushed to the trains when a friend told me you shared the power grid with plans to build all of my power plants directly on the coal nodes -> link to other areas via monorail.
