I dont think it's anywhere near a priority though, nor should it be.
And yes, I saw the line OP made about wanting to be genderless but I get the feeling that if the devs used a male model then the outcry would be a lot less and there definitely wouldn't be talk about political messages.
It honestly can't be said any simpler than that.
Last word I heard from a developer (Jace) on this forum yesterday was,
"uhh just because she's female doesnt mean shes a political statement. its not like we thought "its gotta be female". our concept artist just made a character and we thought it was cool. I think she wanted it to be a woman, but idk thats her choice she's the artist. the company didnt force anything."
