maybe the reason they made it so picking up a radioactive material hurt and kill you is because the developers want it to be that way...? it's video game but that doesn't mean it cant have realistic elements.
it would be bad game design if you would die from being within 100 feet of uranium without a hazmat suit.
There was once an armour (forgot the game) which dealt 2% of max hp as damage per step if equipped. It was quite strong, but also very deadly.
Yeah, still I get what you mean, because in most games you can pick uranium and worse stuff up and nothing happens, but as you stated the devs can to what they want, they can be creative! So just shrug it off, you know it now, and go ahead and build an magnificent factory!
It was a nasty surprise for sure when I mined it the first time and suddenly died. Then tried to loot the corpse few times and died again. But it is not a bad one. Just learn how it works and deal with it.
I expected that I already have some protection because I am wearing a suit on this planet, but it appeared that there was none.
Aside from leaving the body until I reach level 7, is there a solution?
This whole thread is the reason why we need to put disclaimers on all toxic substance.
Seriously, some comments here make me wonder how these people didn't die by ingesting bleach or hurt themselves with any household chemical.
Oh please no, this isn't America and I don't it to become like that either where we need to have a disclaimer or trigger warning on absolutely everything (then again, you could get sued over something that should be simple common sense, or basic logic).
Ever heard the woman who sued the restaurant because the coffee was too hot? That's what you get from neglecting a proper education system for over 40 decades, especially when some schools are allowed to teach that the Earth is flat and created 6000 years ago, and radiation and gravity is pure fantasy...
But, I'm pretty sure JustGoFly is a zombie/troll account anyway...
That lady got a 2nd degree burn because the coffee was around 100°C, and she had to get a skin graft. Instead of paying the medical cost, McDonalds prefered to create a smear campaign to make it look like she was crazy.
Way different than people not realizing that the thing that kills them if they get near it might also kill them if they pick it up in their inventory.
Also they were being pretty constructive with their comment towards you.
You on the other hand took no time in lashing out. So if after that you get snide remarks, that is pretty much why.
There's no secret that in America companies (especially in insurance) are more protected than the individual human.
Yes, accidents happens, but the point was, if the coffee or the plate is too hot you wait... If I burn myself for taking the plate too quickly out of the oven I can only blame myself, not others, for not using some sort of heat protection. That's what these kinds of people do - they blame others for things they are the cause of themselves.
Also, anyone who have gone to school also knows that uranium is something you shouldn't go around with either due to its unstable nature. Or read comic books, or books in general.
Coffee Stain has just taken the radiation effect and upped it 10000x or something as an added balance. OK, he died, well it's a game, perhaps he can learn from it then?
To be fair, any chemical (in the uk anyway) is marked with a big obvious "what this will do to you if improperly handled". Which, as life isn't a video game, and nuts/berries cannot cure everything, i am very thankful of.
I highly doubt this is good for the game. I have no problem falling off cliffs and dieing. I can get parachutes fairly early and with enough stone can get back up top again. Up to this point the game made sense. But now I seriously wonder why this remains in the game for so long, just pissing off their players time and time again. This issue is hotly debated in reddit, also with the same number of trolls making fun of the poster, like that is a logical argument - LOL. If you have a valid reason for this being in the game, I'd love to hear it. As for sueing you - I doubt you have a penny to spare, so no worries there.
This is simply not good for the game. The game was fun right up to that point. I will not re-roll or load an old save. I will move onto a game worthy of my time.
She was hospitalized for eight days while she underwent skin grafting, followed by two years of medical treatment. Ya - just a regular cup of coffee, and she shouldn't have complained after almost dieing, and going through years of pain. Another example of someone misinformed and uneducated. Please troll elsewhere.
