That said, miles and miles of conveyor belts can eventually harm game performance. You'll likely want vehicles (trains, most likely) at some point.
Easier to just lay down track for train and forget about it.
But, strictly from an economic perspective, the best transportation method are always Conveyorbusses.
I hope CSS revamps them in a future update.
What i did as explored was leave beacons and named them. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.. ect. then when set path i went from beacon to beacon so didnt get as lost lol
long belts solve the problem, but i hate how looks etc

I would say, if it is closer than 1000 meter, you should just build a belt, if farther, esp if lot farther you should build trains between, but belts at the two end, you might add extra stops on the train line if needed.
I also tend to use them over trains, unless there is no straight forward path. Trains have the same problem as belts, a pain in the ass to set up in a way that looks good and is not messing up the ground travel.
