Multiple Hubs?
If i play with a friend and we decide to separate from the start to build our own factories, is it possible so that, lets say, i can run for a distance to select my starting position and my friend can do the same and we build our own HUBs and build our own factories?

Same map, but different starting locations?
Is that possible?

The hub and space elevator can only one in each world

You're supposed to only build 1 hub, but no one said that a hub had to be bound to a base. Why not just build... you know.. a HUB inbetween the two bases?

Because we like to do our own thing at the early stages of a game like this (or Factorio) and later kind of strike a deal and connect.

Some sort of semi-cooperative if you want.
Not playing against each other necessarily but cooperating only for a bigger purpose (like me having claimed most coal deposits so i exchange coal for his limestone deposit in return.
I hoped that Satisfactory maybe later will get contracts to fulfill. Which means delivering certain goods to a spacehub to fulfill the contract.
And that would bring some sort of competitive gameplay if you want so by creating several Hubs.

But thanks for the answer.

We play so many games together. Especially economy based games though, its funnier to implement some competitive part.
It doesnt mean we arent cooperating, but we rather strike deals than handling everything as part of the common good.
More like two separate companies working on the same map and interacting with each other.

In Factorio we had a Mod that allowed to send resources to a SpaceHub and generate Credits, which you could use to buy certain Products in return.

Dont get me wrong. I also like to play purely cooperative often enough. But i prefer to have the option.
It allows for much more depth to the gameplay.
Which is why i love games like Age of Empires. You can play s a team, but you can tick the checkbox to allow teampartners to betray you midgame and switch sides, or go completely rogue.
You must not, but allowing it just spices things up.
Especially late-game, i feel like being able to just say "See ya later maybe", hop into a vehicle, drive a good distance and build a fresh base on your own (and potentially sabotage your "partners") sounds like much more fun.

Especially if it was possible to compete against friends on the Special Projects (like Project Assembly) and who is first to complete milestones, could be a fun thing.
Not possible without multiple HUBS though.

Research is global.
If you progress tier higher or new recipe, your friend/friends will have automatically access to it as well.

Yeah assumed so.
Would be cool if they implemented an option (when creating a session) to make it separate.

As said above, it must not be PvP. But can. Your choice.

Yes, but even Devs won't implement that. They said them self on stream.

Sad to hear. Anyway. Thanks for the info.

That's really dumb. Me and my friend both want to be in the same game but we want our own bases. Just like any other game like this, minecraft, space engineers, no mans sky etc.

I mean i understand why its not there.
Its kinda hard to implement separate tech trees if it wasnt intended from the get go.
But even if not, then still one HUB per player would be cool and could work.
Doesnt matter whether you do research together, but having separate spawnpoints on the map and being able to build your personal hub.

Then maybe wait for official Mod Support and a Modder who will implement this ;)

(Not the Space Hub but the possibility th set up a game in your requested way ;) )
