Smelter+Storage
Anyone know how to get the storage container to feed the smelter?

Both connected by conveyor and powered, iron ore sits on belt, smelter doesn't feed from belt, only smelts iron ingots when manually fed.

got it right way around ?

Make sure the belts are actually connected, and going in the right direction.

And tell the smelter what it should produce.

As pointed out everything goes one way only. If your storage isn't spitting out stuff on the end you expect it to, you've got it the wrong way around. The green arrow is direction.

The ores are coming out of the storage and stop at smelter entrance, even while the smelter ore in hopper goes down and is making iron ingots. It simply wont take ore.

But you are saying it does for you? I will try again once more

This might be a bug, had to replace conveyor again after switching production?

When you switch type of production, and you already had something on conveyor belt that the reciever isn't supposed handle, you need to change the conveyor belt.

One or two items might already be in the black area of the input, and the only way to remove those is to set up the conveyorbelt again.

Time for a screenshot of the constructor entrance.

Definitely sounds like you've either rotated the constructor the wrong way around, or there's copper bars on the belt going into the iron smelter blocking throughput.

This isn't a bug.
There was just a single item at the end on the belt at the entrance of the smelter (you can see it if you get realy close).
Removing and replacing is the best and fastest thing to do (or switching back to the old product, then the item gets into the smelter and you can take it out).

Next time you shouldn't switch production on a single line with different ores.... if you got new ores just build a new productionline and if you don't have enough power, just switch the other line off (there is a switch at every building)

I noticed something with connected machinery:
Sometimes the wrong item feeds in, (or the item from a previous manufacture queue) and it interrupts the production line because the fed machine isnt smart enough to move it aside or dump it. You cannot see that last item right before it dissappears into the constructor or smelter.

You have to stop all production, including feeding, manually delete the conveyor belt, pick up the dropped resources, and start all over again fresh. Its a pain.

The same thing happens in Terratech a lot, BUT, there you can see all resources out in the open and just grab one when its clogging up the line.

In Space Engineers the machinery is smart enough to auto-pull whatever it needs and the line never gets clogged up nor do you drop resources.

Remember, SatisFactory is still in Early Access.

Sometimes you can have 1 wrong ore stuck at the end of the track. In this case I would simply delete the belt from the storage to the smelter and create it again.

Edit sorry this was pretty much exactly what Aeekto said above.

Or you know - Don't change production with filled belts.
