Refinery to make copper ingots, what's the use?
Just built some refineries as an alternative to the copper smelters, thought they would give higher output like the iron ingots one, but they have the same ingots/min as the smelter, just at 10x the power and 4x the size.

Anyone use refineries for copper?

you want the foundry recipe, there is one that puts out 100 copper for 75 raw copper and 25 raw iron per min, best one I have found

AH, I'll check that out! Alternative recipe I take it?

Its sometimes useful when you want to avoid large transportation ways and have everything close together.
Once you have unlocked fuel power is usually not that much of an issue. Make one or two turbofuel plants and you are probably good for the rest of the game. Depends on how large you plan to build, of corse

Running nuclear at the moment. Using so much copper to make quickwire etc that I wanted to get it more efficient.

one or two fuel plants enough power? are you even playing the game? lol

Yes, 500 hours into it. As is said, it depends on how large you plan to build. Before stepping up to nuclear power, i had one turbofuel plant and two "backup" plants which use the oil residue from diffrent factories as a backup fuel source.
It summed up to a total of 14.400 MW, which was enough to support everything up to turbomotors. Might be of interest to say that i didnt go higher than 4 supercomputer and 4 turbomotors/minute.

I was running about 24 fuel plants before switching to nuclear. I have one fabricator going non-stop to make the higher tier items like super computers and dump the excess into the grinder just to keep everything churning. I think I could do with 2 nuclear plants though, maybe have one boosted with a slug to 150%.

Yeah it depends on how you play. I know people that want to put out 20 super computers per minute... them's other apples.

You cant realistically overclock nuclear plants. They need 300 m³ of water per minute, which is at the same time the maximum flow of a normal pipe. Overlocking would increase that demand which the pipe cannot deliver, sadly

It works for me.
