FYI, the Scanner does not see the small deposits that can be removed from harvesting them.
What I don't get is why you are in a forum for a game you clearly don't have or have an interest in.
This
So I dunno if bug or if me, but coal is very problematic at the moment.
Ive gotten stuck on a tree a few times also, character sticky issue.
Do we eventually get solar panels or what ?
Set in future space exploration game using coal as main power source seems a bit far fetched, we would definately have solar and probably nuclear Thorium or something common like such.
Anyway, awesome game, would be even better when I find coal deposit !
No solar panels.
When you unlock tier 5, you get access to Oil Pump and refinery, witch then convert the oil to fuel, and that can be used in Power generators.
Also Oil can be converted in to other products.
Tier 7 we get Nuclear power.
And Devs already confirmed, there won't be any space travel.
Unlocking Geothermal is quite an adventure, too.
Anyway I have literally conveyors all over map running stuff back to base, I have a concrete stairway to elevatorr and beyond into sky, and dozens of automated machine and Im running game on Ultra video settings , on a GTX980, in a PC with 16g RAM and an i7 5960, 8 core i7 CPU, this is a 4 to 5 year old PC now and the performance for EA is utterly awesome, I roll around 80 FPS and near factory Im around 42 FPS, no majorly issues, its brilliant for EA.
When my scanner finally could ping for coal I went searching. It was a long way off from my base and WAY high up. I used all my cement building ramps and foundations and then two lookout towers to finally find it. The nearest water is too shallow.
I found one closer, sorta. I thought it was heaven because there was a nice sized pool over water there. I never could find the node. I was zero meters away and nothing. I had a dream that I had to build a digging tool. There is no such thing. I tried to place a simple miner but could not. I left a tag pole titled "invisible coal" Grrrrrr. I have seen this in more than one biome.
Curious thing is that I found several pure oil deposits very far from home. and large area with several uranium deposits. I found bauxite but cant scan for it, and other advanced stuff that I can't use. Gaaaarrrrrrggh!
I need the coal mined for steel production to get the next unlocks. Gaaaarrrrrgh.
I like the 4th biome for the relatively easy access to coal and I found oil deposits closer.
The 3rd one which I think is still experimental has the closest place to find coal. Somewhere past the main water falls. Under and through the canyons; across the river and through the woods. :)
1. Recipe guide book. It will show you the input and output for every item in the game. What its used for, what alternate recipies exist, etc.

2. Interactive map. You can upload your save file and get a dynamic top down perspective of all your assets. It can even show you everything on the map from nodes to hard drives through various filters.
You can even plan a production chain via this website.
It also can be used as a save editor. People use it to create circular foundation designs, solve glitches such a sa truck going weird. If you want you can cheat and fill storage containers with anything you want.

3. The dev’s QA website. Here you can find all the various bug reports and suggestions the community has sent to the devs. If you think you have an issue this is a good place to see if others have had it too, or voice a suggestion.
