That doesn't help the OP.

OP, from what I've seen of Satisfactory modding so far, it's loose files that you add to the game's install folders so they should be cross compatible regardless of the storefront you bought it off of. You can find a decent Satisfactory mod site at https://ficsit.app/ which has the mod loader that is needed for the mods hosted there as well. Once the loader and mods there are updated for Update 3 of Satisfactory (I am assuming the steam release will come after Update 3 is done on the experimental branches), they should be compatible with the Steam install of it and the EGS install of it.

a mod, you know back in the day before Steam supported mods you could own and mod whatever... it was just a file replacement for the most part. All we did back then was host it on websites that offered the files for download with instructions on where to install it to. Most even had installers vs copy pasta files in certain folder locations.

I imagine cross platform, owning the game, you could do the same for modding community for Satisfactory. As long as the modder hosted the files on a known website and the developers didn't object to it, downloading a mod isn't exclusive to Steam. It's been a thing way before Steam decided, er was convinced how important this was to the gaming community and added it to their platform.

Now what the real question is if Epic would also allow their platform to encourage and support the modding community? All that subscribe button does is auto installs the mod for said game, it's pretty simple to recreate. Just some forums and an area for gamers to see and select mods for their video games and we wouldn't need third party modding websites. The modders could add to both Epic and Steam. I currently support both platforms, I mostly support video games and their respective developers/modders in general.

These platforms like Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, Steam, Epic, Stadia etc are just places or platforms, some offering incentives with pay options like subscriptions with free games, others modding support or not, or even like this one here Steam which is free and forum integrated. At the end of the day I am not attached to a platform, those will come and go but the video games and mods we share alike are where the memories n loyalty lay for me.
