Hello again, I'd like to ask about Favorite Users, Sound Effects, and Custom Icons.

Thank You for all these updates and I hope you're having a Happy New Year. I would like to ask about a few features with RutonyChat.


1 - Would it be possible to add an option for more than one Favorite Category?

For example, so I can add users to Favorite 1 (Supporters), Favorite 2 (Regulars), Favorite 3 (Whatever else, etc). To make it fully customizable like this https://i.imgur.com/aHnPLEG.png


2 - What is the correct way to add Sound Effects to RutonyChat?

I would like to have the sound file play every time somebody in chat writes a specific word. For example, I want a laughing sound to play when a viewer types !laugh. I think I found this possible under Remote Control but can't seem to get it to work when testing... here is a link to how I have it set up right now https://i.imgur.com/tRhjGmv.png . Pressing "Test" plays the sound like normal, but when I save these settings and go to my Twitch chat to type !laugh, I don't hear RutonyChat play the file. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

3 - Would it be possible for RutonyChat to have a feature similar to Emote Wall or KappaGen?

Both Emote Wall [blog.streamlabs.com] as well as KappaGen [support.streamelements.com] let Twitch Emote Icons bounce around on OBS through a Browser Source when viewers type the icons in chat. As well as activate different effects such as a "Emote Fountain" when someone donates. Hopefully the links worked, if not then here is an example of what they do https://i.imgur.com/Cdkmp61.mp4 . The only problem is, custom emotes I use with RutonyChat can't be used through Emote Wall or KappaGen. Would a feature like this work with RutonyChat?

4 - How does "Show Pictures from Favorite Users" work?

Are "Pictures" the Icons next to a viewers name like this -

1. List of Favorites. This is one, there is no point in adding a few. Since there is no reason to switch between them. A favorites list is essentially a list of people you want to separate from the rest of the viewers by marking them with asterisks.

However, there is a Ranking system in the program. It allows you to do much more. If applied to pictures, then it also allows you to allow the output if the user has a rank with permission.

To do this, Ranks must be enabled in Settings. And the condition for issuing a rank is made. In the rank setting itself, there is permission to display images. And the rank should be given to the chatter, on the Chatters tab.

3. There is an analogue, but it is very simple, without any settings. Implemented by the usual theme from the Steam Workshop.

4. I think the problem is just in the site itself. Imgur often lags and bugs. They often have problems displaying images, especially newly created ones. Plus there may be a problem that the picture is from a private gallery, and in principle it cannot be accessed.

First off, I just wanted to Thank You for responding with such a detailed post. I've been testing around with the settings and have some more questions to ask. Hopefully I'm not bothering you by asking all these

1 - Can you add a feature to separate the rank and site icons?

I was treating Favorites as Rank, which is why I wanted to have an option for more. However, since switching to Rank and getting all that to work.... I don't know how I never used this before. Thanks for showing me. There is still one more problem though, I only want the Rank Icons to appear but not the Twitch Icon next to the viewers name like this https://i.imgur.com/xMpjarp.png . When turning SIte Icons Off in Theme Parameters, it removes the Rank and Favorite Icons as well. Is it possible to have two options?

2 - How do I limit Remote Control only to Rank Group and on a Timer?

Enabling Remote Control in Settings fixed the Sound Effects, they now play as normal when typing the commands in chat. Which is awesome.

2a - However, to avoid trolls from spamming these... I would like to know how to assign the commands only to viewers in a Rank Group. I see an option "Only from Subscribers" but not Rank https://i.imgur.com/nwSc00m.png . Can this be changed?

2b - I would also like to ask if it is possible to limit these commands to a timer instead of by Chance/Message as seen in the "Only from Subscribers" picture above. For example, to add a 5 minute wait time between when the next Remote Control Sound Effect can be played.

3 - Is there anyway to get the Gravity and KappaFlakes Theme to have settings?

I like how both of these Themes work but without Theme Parameters, there isn't much customization. It would be nice to have Effects like Fade Out, limit how many emotes appear on screen at once, an option to slow down the speed, as well as interacting with objects like this https://i.imgur.com/YXRgcw0.png . I don't understand much about coding but I'm guessing it might be too complex for something like RutonyChat

3a - Is it possible to have a Gravity Theme for messages in the chat instead of emotes? Kind of like this https://i.imgur.com/g3Jci1Y.png

3b - I'm not sure if you're familiar with Games Done Quick, but they stream speedruns for charity. This year though they introduced an interactive crowd [gamesdonequick.com] which reacts and animates to the emotes from messages in the chat. Do you know how this works or if something like this can be made into a future theme for RutonyChat?

4 - Can RutonyCHat Re-Scale Images?

I was able to fix the Images to appear from Imgur in chat, I don't think my settings were right the first time. But I did find that pictures are huge when they appear in the chat. Is it possible to tell RutonyChat to re-scale images down to a certain size, so they fit in the window like this https://i.imgur.com/EBiORhm.png

5 - Is it possible to change custom icon settings?

I use Custom Icons in my chat, so for example when someone types red... then it shows the red Icon I have set. But if someone types redder, the the red icon also appears with a er at the end. Is there a way to make icons only appear when the names match but not if it's part of a different word? Like this https://i.imgur.com/uBVipnA.jpg . I have a waving icon for hi which also causes this problem

6 - Can I change a viewers name in Rutonychat?

Twitch lets viewers change their usernames once every few months but it is impossible for me to remember every single viewers old and new name everytime they change it. Is there a way for RutonyChat to change a name for specific viewers or Rank maybe? https://i.imgur.com/4mAmLwm.png

7 - How do I invert the direction of the messages?

8 - How do Profiles work in Settings, Themes Section?

I think the Profiles might be broken since the new recent Update. Before, I was able to Switch Profiles just fine with Themes and RutonyChat remembered my changes made (it still works as normal when in the Remote Control Menu). But now, it seems changing the Profiles doesn't save but instead acts as if everything is still all on the same Profile https://i.imgur.com/OrIWKm5.mp4

9 - How does Discord work with Rutonychat?

1. Unfortunately, this is regulated by the themes themselves. If the theme has settings for hiding and showing. Then it can be customized. If not, then no.
2. You can make a preset of the bot. There, everything is necessary settings, rank, timer and so on. And as a result of the output, call the Remote Control preset. For the Remote control preset, remove only the trigger condition.
3. The theme was made a long time ago, even before the appearance of Kappagen. At that time, there were no settings at all for themes. I'll write it down to the task list. But this is not a priority at all, so I don’t know when it will be implemented.
4. Pictures from imgur are always shown very badly. This is the problem of the imgur himself. Automatic scaling is already worth it, but apparently it does not work out 100%.
5. The program displays the data as the sites send it. Third-party emoticons, for example, BTTV, do not contain precise positioning, so they may be displayed incorrectly.
6. Previously, there was such functionality, but with updates it was removed as not in demand. I'll add to the task list, but I'm not sure if it will reappear.
7. There is no such possibility. There are only a few skins that allow you to display messages in this direction. However, a lot of people have been asking about the direction lately, so I think this setting may appear soon enough.
8. At the moment, the profiles in the settings do not work correctly, they will be fixed soon. Profiles in Remote Control and Bot are not linked to a profile in Settings. These are sub-profiles of the current profile from Settings.
9. All messages from the selected group are simply captured. A bot is connected to the group for finer positioning, roles can be used to regulate what exactly it can read. At the moment, it may not work, as it must pass the discord verification, as it has more than 100 groups.
