Amusement park boss freezes at hacking

I’m at an amusement park and have to beat a tank. After that I meet a big boss that is quite strong but about half way through it says something about hacking and attempts to let me play some kind of mini game. In that mini game I don’t know what to do and after about half a minute the game just freezes. I can’t go into a menu either. Is that supposed to happen? I’ve tried waiting for half an hour but that doesn’t solve the frozen mini game either.

How can I get through the amusement park boss? Seeing that this is probably a bug, how should I continue? Is there a guide on modding out bosses or something?

If I put it on fullscreen mode instead of windowed it crashes to desktop instead of freezing. It’s always at the same point though: a couple of seconds after the hacking minigame starts.

I’ll try going back. Hopefully this part of the game is optional and the rest does work.

First of all, no this part of the game is not option, it's one of the main bosses of the game and the hacking part is a mandatory part of the fight.
That said, i'd suggest you try and verify the game files in steam.
Also, just to be sure, are you maybe using SpecialK and have uncapped the fps?

Beside the technical issue, in the hacking section you simply have to shoot and destroy the small ball in there, and lock on works during these hacking sections too.

Hi there! Thanks for your response. I did not see it earlier.

I've verified the game files and do not use mods or anything. It seems like my laptop is just not supported. My laptop has a Nvidia GTX 860M with DirectX 11. My pc with an AMD GPU has no problem handling the hacking sequences of this boss.

The game is much more enjoyable with my pc since it does 60 fps and my laptop only did 30 so I'll just let this bug be. Thanks for taking time to respond anyway!

The shift button causes the little arrow to shoot in the hacking minigame. Revealed through random button mashing, because no tutorial. In case anyone else is wondering.

For me it really just froze and I had to use a proper pc to run the game but maybe this helps others, so thanks anyway!

Hope everyone reading this will do whatever it takes to play this game in any case! What an absolutely amazing game this is. You have to play it three times, though, but I promise that’s well worth it!
