Drakengard??? Nier is a spin-off???
So I was searching stuff about Nier because I'll be buying it on black friday when it goes sale copium. And, I saw a video about Drakengard being connected to Nier. I don't know anything about drakengard, its my first time hearing about it.

So my question is, is Drakengard relevant to Nier: automata and relipcant? are drakengard games worth playing? Im planning to just watch a summary on youtube if its not available on steam (I haven't searched yet).

You can play Nier without Drakengard. You'll miss some cryptic references, but the game works as a standalone.

See the endings of Drakengard 1. Some pretty messed s**t.

Drakengard 3 looks like fun to play but I always heard the controls were a pain.

Drakengard games are worth seeing but not worth playing. Nier was kind of a stealth sequel to a specific ending of Drakengard but that one involved interdimensional travel to our world out of nowhere so it's a very vague connection. And all the in-game documents in Nier Replicant that allude to the events of Drakengard are very vague about it too.

Some really small spoilers for Automata starting at 24:45(cutscene You'll see within like 1 or 2 hours into the game
