The very same thing happened to me, though I needed to kill the village guards as well, had to go on another murdering rampage with all the pleading for mercy, never felt so legitimately vile in a video game and the villagers aren't even human...
I loved the game so much I just had to grind for the pods and the boss fight, now I've still got to defeat the devs, although I've already got 100% achievements. Yes I'm thirsty for more Automata content
